LEADERSHIP
Dr. Lan Guan is the Chief AI & Data Officer at Accenture. In this role, she leads a practice of over 45,000 AI & Data experts and advises cross-industry C-suite clients on developing and implementing data and AI strategies and products that drive growth and reinvention in the era of advanced AI. As part of Accenture’s Reinvention Services, Lan and her team help position Accenture as our clients’ trusted reinvention partner, reimagining enterprises end-to-end by embedding AI across strategy, technology, and operations to deliver sustainable business transformation. Lan is a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee.
During her 20-year tenure in Accenture’s consulting business, Lan brings deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, data strategy, cognitive science, and robotics to maximize market opportunities for global businesses. Prior to this role, Lan was the Global Lead for AI & Data in Accenture’s Technology organization. During that time, she focused on transforming data propelled by cloud adoption into actionable plans and scalable solutions to maximize market opportunities for clients.
Lan is a founding member of the Stanford Institute for HumanCentered Artificial Intelligence (HAI), an institute dedicated to advancing AI research, education, policy and practice to improve the human condition, where she established the Accenture Stanford Foundation Model Scholar Program. In 2025, Lan was selected as a CNBC Changemaker, which honors women whose accomplishments have left an indelible mark on the business world. She was listed as one of the Top 25 Consultants and Leaders in AI by The Consulting Report and received the Top 50 Asian American in Business Award in 2023. Lan was the recipient of the Top Women Leaders in Consulting in 2022. Prior to that, she won a STEM Champion for Women award in 2020. One of Lan’s innovations, the B2B Growth Solution powered by AI won the American Business Stevie Gold Award in 2022.
Lan serves on the advisory board of the AI4All, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in AI education, research, development, and policy. Lan holds a Doctorate Degree in Business and Artificial Intelligence from the City University of New York, a PhD (ABD) in Quantitative Econometrics from Wayne State University, and an MBA in Computational Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
A prolific innovator, Lan holds over 30 patents in AI-related fields, including digital marketing, sales optimization, and content recommendation. She also contributes to academic development as an Adjunct Faculty member at the Data Science Institute at Columbia University.
